SMETONOS ŪSAI - that’s the musician trio, which plays dance tunes from the last century: polkas, waltzes, foxtrots and figure dances. The group is unique for its highland instruments: the violin, Petersburg’s accordion and an orchestra drum with a cymbal and a triangle, which was made by the musician himself. Their first album “Trunksmas” (the Rumble) features full music history heard from highland musicians (Valentas Trainys, Albertas Paškevičius, Stasys Berniūnas, Algimatas Mieliauskas etc.). In the old days or maybe even to this day, “trunksmas” was the name for a strong drink. Similarly, as from this drink, from good music one wants to dance with a rumbling thunder!
